1. Tell us about yourself.

My name is Laura Patricia and I’m of half Sri Lankan and half Filipino decent. I have my own clothing brand called Urban Niche which specializes in swimwear and gymwear. We also just launched an eyewear brand this year called Urban Eyewear which consist of high end polarized sunglasses. Apart I’ve also been modelling part time for about 8 years now and I’m also a part time travel writer for Travel Leisure Magazine.

2. What is your childhood dream? Did you make it happen?

Well when I was a child I wanted to be a vet because I loved animals, I still do but of course I’m in the fashion industry now so things did not really go as planned.

3. Describe how you first get into being a social media influencer/blogger? Is being a social media influencer/ blogger your full time job?

I first started getting involved as a social media influencer a few years ago when several beauty and fitness brand started approaching me with sponsorship offers for their products and services. I think it’s a great way to earn a nice side income and it’s a privilege to get the opportunity to attend some exclusive events. Its certainly not a full time job for me as my business takes up most of my time. As I mentioned earlier I’m a fashion entrepreneur, part time travel writer and a freelance model.

4. Do you have other passion to pursue?

My passion is dancing and fitness which I try to do whenever I get some spare time. My other passion used to be figure skating which I had to stop due to a bad knee injury. It was a great sport but unfortunately I was discouraged to continue after my injury.

5. What type of influencer/blogger you would describe yourself as?

I would say I’m more of a fashion, fitness and beauty influencer.

6. What does the word success means to you?

Success to me is doing what you love and being able to make a living out of it so that work never has to feel like a chore.

7. What values are most important to you?

Hard work, perseverance and determination.

8. If you are given a million dollars, what would you do with that money?

I would probably invest a big portion of it back into my business to try and take it to the next level and I would probably use the rest to travel the world and experience new places

9. What is your proudest achievement or accomplishment you have achieved in life?

Well in terms of modelling it was probably to work with world known Hollywood designer Adam Saaks, for my writing job it would be how blessed I’ve been to travel the world and visit amazing countries like Japan and Thailand. For my business I feel great accomplishment watching it grow and develop, we are launching our third store this year which truly makes me very happy.

10. Can you name some of your favourite bloggers/ influencers and why? Who would you love to collaborate with?

I love Amanda Cerny because I think she does a really great job of branding herself with interesting and stunning pics and funny videos. I would love to sponsor her with something from my brand someday and hope to receive a great feedback.

11. What would you say that is the biggest challenge about being a influencer?

I suppose the biggest challenge would be to keep coming up with fresh and interesting content as well as to keep up with some of the new and upcoming competition out there

12. If you have a magic ward, what is the one thing you would ask for and why?

I would ask for a million other additional wishes so I could keep going! lol!

13. What advice would you give to other aspiring influencers? any general advice to those have big dreams?

My advise would be to pursue a field that you are passionate about so that you love your job so much it never has to feel like work. It might start slow but it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to build a brand. There will always be ups and downs but its important to stay positive and never give up on your goals and ambitions.

14. What do you wish for by the time you hit the age of 30?

I hope that I will be able to take the business to the next level and perhaps develop several more sublines under my brand to make it an international franchise.

15. What do you think is the purpose of life?

I think the purpose of life is to live it by your own terms by which makes you happy. We only have one life so its important you live it to the fullest.
