1. Tell us about yourself.

My name is Yvette. I live in Singapore and enjoys running, traveling, playing and listening to music when I am not at my 9-6 job during the weekdays.

2. What is your childhood dream? Did you make it happen?

I wanted to be a air stewardess with SQ or a radio deejay last time and even went for interviews and audition. Sad to say, I wasn’t selected, but I guess my personality is not suited for these job as I am not a vocal or extroverted person.

3. Describe how you first get into blogging?

Many people told me I am good in writing so that sets me thinking about starting a blog to write about what matters to me and as a portal to share my travel stories and photos. I didn’t even know what bloggers do when I first started a blog 2 years ago.

4. Besides blogging, what do you do as passion? Do you have other passion to pursue?

I enjoy traveling, playing sports and is currently learning drums as a way to relax and de-stress.

5. What type of blogger do you want to be? Share your thoughts about it.

I see myself as a health and lifestyle blogger. My mother passed away from nose cancer in 2011 and my dad is now in the terminal stage of renal cancer. Having experience the agony and pain of seeing my parents suffering from chemo/radio therapy and aging drastically overnight makes me rather health conscious and very much into organic and clean living. I like to share beneficial health products, clean makeup, organic skincare and lifestyle tips with my readers to raise awareness.

6. What does the word success means to you?

Although the blogosphere can be competitive, it can be fun too. I don’t see myself anywhere near being successful and think there is still much room for growth. As long as I am a better person today than I was yesterday, I do not need to compete with anyone. Life is too short for dramas.

7. What is your biggest dream now?

I want to see my father recovering from cancer and for my family to be closer and more united.

8. If you are given a million dollars, what would you do with that money?

I want to start an online business/website selling only organic skin care brands/makeup to help Asian women buy organic products at an affordable price.

9. Why not share with us your happiest moment in your life & what encouragement would you give someone who is facing depression?

My younger brother suffer from depression and didn’t step out of the house for 5 years. Even the most successful and good looking person can suffer from depression if their self-worth and self-esteem is low. Family support, love and affirmation is important for anyone who is going through depression.

10. What would you say that is the biggest challenge about blogging?

Maybe you think a certain post which you had put in much effort to do will be a great success but it only gets lukewarm response. Then something else which you don’t think will be a good story gets more response. It’s not easy to anticipate or foresee what will be trending next.

11. What would you say that is the greatest satisfaction of being blogger?

I love to reach out and build rapport and trust with the brands and PR managers that contacted me. I also want to help them grow and build brand awareness through my blog and social networks. I get the greatest satisfaction from building a relationship with them and seeing their products sell.

12. If you have a magic wand, what is the one thing you would ask for and why?

Happiness. Because money can buy you a house, car, luxury goods and entertainment but it cannot buy you love, true friends and happiness.

13. What advice would you give to other aspiring bloggers? Any general advice to those have big dreams?

Don’t be a blogger just for the benefits or money because it is not easy to be at the top of your game. Just stay true to yourself and keep doing what you love, and I am sure your readers will appreciate you for being genuine.
